The Planning Commission approved it. The City Council has the final say. They need to hear from us now! Learn More
The Planning Commission approved a 24/7 truck-scale fueling center at Grant Line and E. Stockton without a full review. But the City Council has the power to stop it. Tell them to support the appeal and deny Maverik before it’s too late.
Maverik was approved using a loophole — calling it an “in-fill” project to avoid a full development review. But this is no small in-fill site. It’s mostly open land, and the developer admitted Maverik is just the first piece of the larger Grant Line Village project. Approving this project in pieces hides the true impacts and denies residents a fair look at what’s really coming.
East Stockton Boulevard is already one of the most congested corridors in Elk Grove. Maverik hasn’t submitted final plans for required road work, yet the City pushed it forward anyway. Elk Grove Police did not provide a call data report or real safety review in the staff report. Approving a 24/7 fueling center here means more truck traffic, more congestion, and more safety risks for families, schools, and local businesses.
Within three miles of this site, there are already more than 16 fueling stations, including diesel providers like CFN, InterState Oil, and Clean Energy. Elk Grove does not need another massive fueling hub. A 25-pump, 24/7 diesel-heavy station doesn’t serve our neighborhoods — it only adds traffic and crime while duplicating services we already have.
The Planning Commission approved Maverik, but the City Council has the final say. Now is the time to act. Support Protect Elk Grove’s appeal and tell the Council to deny this project before it reshapes our southern gateway into a 24/7 fueling hub. Click below to send your message today.
